Soundly: Snoring Sleep Apnea is a free iPhone app that offers a natural way to reduce snoring and sleep apnea. Developed by Brian Krohn, in collaboration with the Radian Institute and researchers from Mayo Clinic, this app conducts a research study on the benefits of gamified myofunctional therapy.
Myofunctional therapy consists of exercises for the upper airway muscles, which have shown to reduce snoring and sleep apnea in studies. The effectiveness of the therapy varies from person to person, with some experiencing small reductions and others experiencing reductions of over 80%. The goal of this study is to better understand who responds to myofunctional therapy and why.
Soundly is a fun and effective way to reduce snoring without the need for uncomfortable devices during sleep. It is based on the latest myofunctional therapy and behavioral change research, developed at the University of Minnesota's Medical Devices Center in collaboration with the Fairview Sleep Center.
